Why Memorial Day Matters

Memorial Day is, of course, a time to honor those who have served. It’s a time of remembrance and gratitude. At WHYC, we take that to heart. We enjoy these freedoms: the freedom to sail, to gather, and to celebrate: because of the sacrifices made by others.

As we kick off our summer, we do so with a sense of appreciation for the peace and beauty of our harbor. We’re lucky to call this place home, even if it’s just for the weekend.

So, here is the plan:

Friday: Show up. Drop the bags off. Head to the bar at 5:00 PM.

Saturday: Bring your appetite. 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM is the window for the best hot dogs in the harbor.

Sunday: Relax. Eat breakfast. Stay for the movie. Movie Time 8PM with PopCorn!

Summer is short on the Great Lakes. Every sunset is a gift, and every weekend is an opportunity to build a new memory.
