Visiting the WHYC

Whether you are interested in learning more about the WHYC, visiting as a guest, or using your reciprocity, please read below before your visit.

Visiting as a Guest

If you are interested in joining and would like to receive a tour, please email membership@whyc.club or call our office at 847-746-2222 to make arrangements. Our building is only accessible via key fob to our members, although we do offer Open Houses throughout the year where the public is welcome.

All guests should be accompanied by a current WHYC member while using the Yacht Club, unless you are part of an event. Each guest can visit the WHYC three times before being requested to join and share in all the benefits the WHYC has to offer.

The Yacht Club building and grounds are considered private property within North Point Marina only for use by WHYC members.

Visiting With Reciprocity

As a member of the Yachting Clubs of America, the Winthrop Harbor Yacht Club enjoys and offers reciprocity with other participating Clubs.

Our Amenities include:

Canoe Bar open Fridays and Saturday evenings and selected holidays
Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and cable TV with all sports channels while in building
Pool table, foosball, darts, air hockey, and various board games for indoors, plus ladder golf and baggo boards outside.
4 Weber gas grills in the Pavilion with picnic tables in and around the courtyard space.
Kitchen includes microwaves, refrigerator, freezer, popcorn machine, pizza ovens, crockpots, electric skillets, and toaster, plus all the cooking and eating utensils.

We do not have a restaurant onsite; however, we recommend visiting The Tropics or Harbor Brewing Biergarten which are both located in North Point Marina. We also have an extensive list of local restaurants who deliver directly to the Club.

Other Information To Know Before You Arrive

As our doors are only accessible via key fob, please contact the WHYC office at 847-746-2222 prior to arriving so we can arrange for one of our members to meet you. Please bring your yacht club membership card and present it at the bar as proof of being part of the YCA.

If you are able, please bring a burgee for us. We would be honored to add it to our growing collection on our wall of fame!

Reserving a Slip at North Point Marina

The WHYC Does not have any slips reserved in North Point Marina for visiting guests. If you would like to reserve a slip, please contact the Marina directly or reserve through Dockwa.
